This puts Barbados outside of the normal Atlantic hurricane belt.

Barbados is a popular tourist destination even though it is only 34 kilometers (21 miles) in length and up to 23 kilometers (14 mi) wide, and covers an area of just 432 square kilometers (167 sq mi).
