Mokolodi Nature Reserve is a registered non-profit charity organisation that was established in 1994. Situated on 30 square kilometers of donated land. Mokolodi is about 15 kilometers south of the capital, Gaborone. The land was donated into a Trust for the children of Botswana to provide a natural area that would allow them to learn about nature, conservation and the environment.
The Reserve is home to a variety of mammals, such as southern white rhino, South African cheetah, mountain reedbuck, South African giraffe, zebra, red hartebeest, sable, gemsbok, elephant, kudu, impala, spotted hyena, leopard, waterbuck and a diverse array of reptile, amphibian and bird species.
