Nicaragua tourism is growing as a rate of about 10% per year, and is already the number two employer in the country. It is expected tourism will overtake the number one employer, agriculture, within the next decade.
With such an influx of visitors it stands to reason that restaurants pop up like mushrooms after a rain. In Nicaragua most of the eateries are small mom and pop operations that unless they provide exceptional food or are located somewhere spectacular it is almost impossible to list them anywhere. Most do not have phones, many do not even have permanent addresses. There are, however, some excellent cafes and resturants in Nicaragua, especially in the major urban centers and tourist destinations. Those will be listed here…
